INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING FOR PATIENTS, FAMILIES, AND FRIENDS
CCI provides up to 6 free sessions for patients, families, and friends with one of our 42 staff practitioners including psychiatrists, psychologists, and licensed social workers. Services are offered in the greater Houston area including The Woodlands, Katy, Sugar Land, Clear Lake, Pasadena, Fort Bend County, Pearland, Humble and Texas City. Sessions are also offered in-home if the patient, family member, or friend is disabled, indigent, or otherwise unable to drive.

* ASIAN AMERICAN SERVICES:
Counseling services, underwritten by Cancer Counseling, are available through Asian American Family Services in Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Korean, and Hindi. Call 713-339-3688 for more information.

* HISPANIC PATIENT & CAREGIVER GROUP:
~West University Area:
This group is designed for patients and caregivers whose primary language is Spanish. Groups meet on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays at 11:00 am at the Cancer Counseling office. Led by Mercedes Villareal, MA, LPC.
~Katy Area:
Thursdays from 7-8 pm in the lobby at 5618 Medical Center Dr., Ste, 111, Katy, TX 77494. Please call prior to at 281-844-0161.

* MEN WITH CANCER GROUPS:
~Pearland Area:
Mondays from 5-6 pm at Silverlake Professional Building in Pearland (2225 County Road 90, Suite 215, Pearland, Texas 77584), led by Gail Overland, LCSW, LPC, LMFT. This group is open to men of any age who have cancer.
~Inner Loop:
Mondays from 6-7 pm at the Cancer Counseling office. Led by Travis Courville, LCSW. This group is open to men of any age who have cancer.
* PATIENT & CAREGIVER GROUPS:
~Katy:
Thursdays from 7-8 pm at Christus St.Catherine Hospital, Katy. Led by Kris Kerlin, MSW, LPC, LMFT. Cancer patients, their family members, and friends are welcome.
~Memorial City:
Mondays from 7-8 pm at Memorial Hermann Hospital, Memorial City, 909 Frostwood Drive, Suite 152. Led by Deb Hardee, MA, LPC. Cancer patients, their family members, and friends.
~West Houston:
1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Jabourry Foundation located at the West Houston Medical Center, Suite 107a, 12121 Richmond Avenue. Led by Linda Lavinson, LMSW.
~Fort Bend County:
Thursdays from 6-7 pm at the Sugar Land Cancer Center. Led by Linda Lavinson, LMSW. This weekly group is designed for men and women who have been diagnosed with cancer. (15550 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77478)
2nd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Sugar Land Cancer Center. Led by Linda Lavinson, LMSW (15550 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77478) Held in conjunction with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ~ refreshments will be served.
~1960/Spring:
Mondays from 7-8 pm at Cypress Creek Christian Church Annex/InterFaith Room #10. Cancer patients, family members and caregivers. Led by Terry Richter, LCSW, CGP. (6823 Cypresswood Dr. Spring, TX 77379)

~LBJ Hospital (Gynecology/Oncology Support Group)
2nd Wednesday of each month at LBJ Hospital 2nd floor 2-LD84005 conference room from 10-11 am. Refreshments are provided. Contact: 713-873-2556 for more information. This is a bilingual support group led by Mercedes Villareal, MA, LPC.
*BEREAVEMENT GROUP:
~Katy: 2nd & 4th Monday from 7-8 pm at Christus St.Catherine Hospital, Katy. Led by Kris Kerlin, LPC. Anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer is welcome at this group. Started February 11th.
~West University Area:
CCI office (4101 Greenbriar, Ste., 317) in the West University area. Anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer is welcome at this group. New Group TBD ~ March

*CHILDREN’S PARTIES AT MD ANDERSON & TEXAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
Parties are scheduled throughout the year for children being treated at MD Anderson and Texas Children’s Cancer Center. The 2006 Children’s Party schedule is as follows:
Texas Children’s Cancer Center (Parties are held from 10 am-12 noon):
Valentine’s Day: February 14, 2008
Easter: March 19, 2008
Fall Festival: October 29, 2008
MD Anderson Cancer Center (Parties are held from 12 noon-1:30 pm):
St. Patrick’s Day: March 12, 2008
End of School: June 11, 2008
Back-to-School: September 24, 2008

*CHERISHED NOTE PROGRAM
Patients and their families may request that a memorial or tribute card be sent in memory of a loved one or in honor of an occasion, with a donation. This card will be sent to the loved one’s family or to the individual celebrating the occasion.

*ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR PATIENTS, CAREGIVERS, & PROFESSIONALS
This conference is offered free of charge to patients and caregivers and covers a wide range of topics relevant to the cancer experience. Will be held on April 25, 2008 Registration is required; exhibitor space is available.
